Since God is the alpha and omega, beginning and end, everything and nothing, blah blah, Why would he need the burnt carcuss of a dead animal from earth. Has he no cooking skills? Is he going to eat it? If not, why would he let it go to waste?
I think that Jehovah was an alien and he found earthlings to be very gullable and easily manipulated. He thought he would stay awhile and get a good laugh. While he was laughing he got hungry and decided he would have the stupid little earthlings make his dinner for him. Hence the cooked food.

Once he sacrificed himself, there was no more need for animal sacrifices.

The Bible specifically says that God takes no pleasure in the blood of bulls and goats. It's all about sacrifice, and a willingness to give our best to God. Especially since He gave HIS Best for us.

He doesn't because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. His death on the cross did away with the necessity for the sacrificial system.
