The Wars of The Jews by Josephus
Antiquities by Josephus
The writings of Philo of Alexandria
The Bacchae by Euripides
Could that person invent the entire Gospel story, just using quotes, concepts and scenarios described in these books, without any need for a historical basis?

Thought that was the historical basis when ya throw in Tacticus. But many will claim there is no historic Jesus. So it really doesn't matter the truth is In the word of God and those who seek the truth find him and receive a gift of faith and through faith comes revelation and a personal relationship with him. The prophesies of the lamb who would be an atonement for sin go back even before the books of Moses in 1500 BC to have a successful conspiracy one would have to of colluded for generations.

Could the same person go back and erase all the events, proceedings and actions that centered around Jesus being born, fulfilling his ministry, being crucified and arising from the grave? If he cannot then his invention is no different than that of Euripides.

Anyone with half a brain could make up enough lies to control a population that consisted of farmers and fisherment that couldn't read. If the true gospels were in the bible we would all be Christ consciousness realized by now.

I've only ready the first one, and the last two, so I'm missing on the Antiquities. But from what I've seen, it seems likely.

Clever question, Father. If we remove the later excerpts that were attributed to Josephus, we may not even be able to conclude that this man Jesus ever existed, according to ANY historian.
Esther please, we read for knowledge Dear.

I haven't read those books, so I can't say.
But regardless of inspiration, the entire story of Jesus could be fabricated.
