to get more point and to get tips or answers for your questions your problems in life
i think the level thing is just to get you motivated to answer more questions

We gain them, we loose them, now that I've been on here about a year I don't think much about them any more. When I first started, I didn't like having a daily limit, but once I reached that milestone I just forgot about them. I'd like to have a higher percentage of best answers, but my downfall is that I get sucked into answering questions that I shouldn't be answering and sometimes I am sour-r-castic. But I don't know what the points are for except maybe just a little personal contest--how many questions can I answer today; I wonder if I'll reach 5000 in the next week. I'm probably wrong.

They are good for air line milage on Antiartic Airlines, upgrades on Yahoo (you can trade points for levels in YA Answers which make all this so worth while), and you can hold it over your rival's head that you have more points that they....all in all, a very rewarding experience, OR a total waste of time...depending upon how you look at it.
Some people view this as a contest to get the most points ever..have you ever looked at the leader board...someone has over 300,000 points. I question what else they do in life..it is for sure they do not have a job, do not do house work, or date. I can only assume that the more points you have, the more boring a person you are. It is just so you can see if this is the persons first time answering these questions... or have they been doing it for a while.... so you can see where the person ranks based on how many times they have answered other peoples questions.

You get to a higher level if you earn enough points, then your limit for questions and answers is higher.

yeah the points show how commited you are and how high a ranking user you are.... i've spent too much time here already... don't know how some people are here earning 700 points a week!!!
