Health benefits would sure be a good recruiting tool, wouldn't it?
Doesn't quite seem right, but the others are right, reservists only get benefits if they're on Active duty for 30 days or more straight.

Next, your gonna be asking, why a reservist doesn't get paid as much as an active duty service member.
You really think you deserve health benefits for 2 days a month?

because it is assumed that health care insurance is obtained through your civilian employer. There is a TRICARE program for Reservists, but it is not thefree program that Active Duty and Activated Guard/Reserves get, it is treated just like any other HMO and there is a monthly cost for it.

convenient cannon fodder....pollutions elected to set in offices get there perks from that sort of appropriation dispersant... and vote themselves raises every year or so...
because we voting folks don't seem interested enough to call the jerks 'thieves', ..nor do we seem concerned enough to demand an ethical accounting of these trillions of dollars we pay in taxes to those bastards.
The greatest humiliation to America today is the pork allowed congress and the house of Representatives. Nothing else in the world equals the insult of bureaucracy... as it exists in this country today.

No, the government only recognizes actual dependants. Once you marry her, though, she will recieve all the benefits of a spouse. I highly recommend doing it if you were already planning on it. Having a baby is expensive, and Tricare covers the expense if you are married. Best of luck to you.

because you would have another job you can get it from, where as an active duty soldier, that's their main job and their only option for healthcare for their family unless the spouse is working

Because democrats like Pelosi and Reid don't think you are important enough to get full benefits. Democrats treat us miitary as though we were their hired guns. If one of us dies, there are always others to take our place. That's exactly what Pelosi and Reid and the rest of the democrats believe.
