Hezbollah is not representing Lebanon...rather it is a parasite living within Lebanon. Israel attacked Hezbollah.

Because the lebanese army is not sufficiently equipped to fight a regular war against Israel. Its air defenses are antiquated and its air force is has nothing but a few old helicopters.
It would have been a sitting duck if it was militarily involved.
But the army was doing everything it could to fight on the intelligence, logistic, and humanitarian levels.

PS: the army is not killing palestinians. It is shelling positions of a terrorist organization inside a palestinian camp. According to an army press release that was not challenged by anyone, 1 civilian died as a result of the shelling and 19 were wounded. The reports of indiscriminate shellings are highly exagerated.

PS2: the palestinians were not involved at all in the july 2006 war.

The Labanese army wasn't deployed in the Hezbollah-Israel conflict because of fears it would lead to civil war. The army is integrated - it contains both Shiites (likely to be sympathetic to Hezbollah) and other factions (definitely not sympathetic to Hezbollah).

In effect, the Labanese army can't be used against Hezbollah, so Hezbollah opperates with impunity in southern Lebanon, a virtual state-within-a-state - and was free to start a de-facto war with Israel.

The lebonese army needs to kill all of the palestinians that are terrorists. Israel shouldnt have to do Lebanon's job. PLO=Islamic terrorists.
