People read the Bible, and they make their own decisions on what it means. People from different religions read the same Bible and take different interpretations of the same words. So, "error" itself is a misnomer, since nobody alive on earth today was there when it took place. What they would mean then would be that there are over 50,000 things that they think others have taken in the wrong way.
I don't think even think the use of the word error is viable or realistic, so I really can't say I agree with the number at all. I would assume that since they believe in the Koran ( spelling?) that they are sure the Bible is full of things they don't believe in. Probably over 50,000 things they don't believe in. Then again, I don't believe in stoning 17 year olds to death either, so maybe we are even.

Since you asked, not realistic at all.
Here's an example: suppose there are 5000 copies of the same book. There is an error in spelling in 250 of them, the same error..."scholars" then try to say that there are 250 errors in the Bible!
That's only ONE example of how Bible critics pad their "facts" when they examine the ancient manuscripts.
As far as doctrine, there are none. Some small things would be the Book of Jude...the name in the original Greek is Judas.
Mary, Christ's mother was actually Miriam.
Essentially though, it is perfect for our source of belief. You just gotta dig for the truth sometimes. It's worth every bit of effort.

Before we can take this kind of statements for serious accusations, we should look at the source of the accusations.
Nothing is holding a muslim back from lying, not even allah, there is no punishment for lying not even under oath in a courtroom, as long as they claim it is for the sake of allah, and say their creed, .......that's all folks!
The quran is full of inconsistency, misquotations but never the less, great part of the text in the quran is build on a foundation; of our Holy Bible, twisted of course to match the circumstances.
Christians are called "The People of The Book"
Read the four last verses of our Holy Bile, and you will see what that kind of behavior will bring!
It is written in the quran, allah can make a lie to truth, and a truth to a lie.......when is a truth a truth and a lie a lie?????
Just to mention an resent incident; the drawings of muhammed, starting in Denmark. The local imam, added insulting pictures and wrapped it all up in lies....
Let them just scorn our Holy Scripture, God will deal with it, He does not need a human being to fight for Him, He has the power and the wisdom all in Himself.
Instead of using time and energy on listening to such statements of blasphemy, use your time wisely on what matters the most, namely TO BRING GLORY TO GOD;
Read your Bible and live accordingly, Jesus is the only way to Salvation
Soli Deo Gloria

None of the original gospels are in existence today, neither Koine Greek, nor Ancient Hebrew had any capital letters in their alphabets, Esther was omitted from the Bible for centuries by Christians due to historical inaccuracy and parts of Genesis, Daniel, and the entire NT have historical contradictions, translators errors (i.e. "haides" is often described as hell, but it only translated as three things: the god of the underworld in Greek religion "Hades"; Orcus, the abode of the dead in Greek religion; or," the pit, the grave, hell"), We have no eyewitness account but only copies, Constantine "aided" the bishops among Christians to settle doctrinal disputes that had gotten nasty and to commission the compilation of various writings into a complete codex, two of which were written, the Codex Sinaticus, and the Codex Vaticanus. These are the earliest complete bibles available of good repute. They contain 2 Edras, which is not found in the standard bible, and two other not found in modern New Testaments, The Gospel of Barnabas and the Hermit of Shemas. It is these books that were booted from he scriptures during translation, along with adding punctuation and capitalization of the alphabet.

Wonder who did the counting? And that would take a big book by itself just to list them all. I have seen lists of apparent contradictions and errors on the net, but I am sure they are way shy of 50, 000! Someone once told me that there are 2000 contradictions in the KJV Bible, but I have never seen a list that gave them all, I don't think.
A couple of young Mormon missionaries came by a little while ago, wanting to tell me about Christ. My wife was not in the mood to talk to them, which seemed to tick one of them off. Oh, well, sorry about that!

Muslims deny that Jesus is the son of God, which the bible clearly teaches; they deny He died on a cross for our sins, which the bible clearly teaches, and they do not point to Jesus as savior.
So, knowing that, perhaps their "agenda" at denouncing the truth of the bible can be understood.

I wonder if the qu'aran (however you spell it) is able to have a rhema like the bible, a rhema is were God teaches you from his word, you may want to google it, so even if it had mistakes, because of human error, God is still able to teach us from his word.

The biggest error anyone will ever make is the most important one of all, and that is spending all thier time trying to find reasons not to believe Gods Word, and start having The Faith to believe in Gods Word, because this is it, it is now or never. We have been handed the Bible, many have died so we still have the oldest book ever written, and many have tried to rid the world of it.
But, they've had no success, FOR A REASON.
GOD WANTS US TO KNOW, GOD WARNS US AHEAD OF TIME, YOU DON'T GET TO CHANGE YOUR MIND.
WHEN THE TIME COMES, THATS IT.

Check out the book Misquoting Jesus. I forget how many errors the guy says are in it but he says there are more errors than words or something to that effect. Some errors are spelling...others are more serious.

There are no errors or contradictions in the Holy Word of God. I guess the Muslims say this because Mohammad is not in the Holy Bible as their Quran says he is.
