I have this JRT which I train to obey me. After i ensure it react on my command, i bring it out.

I unleash it and it start to run around. But when i gave the command to come back to me, it ignore me. (it react to my comand in the house)

Thus I hate to bring it out.
The main reasons are I don't want it to run to the road and distrub people.

any advice?
Thanks

Dogs don't generalize well. Your dog knows how to obey in the environment in which the training took place, but unless you train it outside, too, he cannot understand the 'rules' apply there, also.

Try putting him on a long line - 20-50 foot tether with a hook on one end. He cannot get away, try calling him and moving away from him. Your motion will make him chase. Use that to get him to come back.

A) Your dog is dominant over you, obedience and submissiveness are not the same thing. Of course he doesn't listen, its not convenient for him at the time and he doesn't see you as the boss.

B) You have a HIGH energy dog which is not getting enough exercises. It would be like feeding a child with ADHD a BUNCH of sugar, taking him to a park and wondering why you need to repeat yourself

C) You dog is likely distracted by the unfamiliar surroundings.

Spend more time with your dog, learn to be the master (Dog Whisper is good for this), exercise it more and keep your dog on a leash expect in designated areas like an off leash park or your back yard.

Practice the commands on a training leash in the outdoors often.

Many dogs will behave great inside their house...familiar sounds, smells, etc. Outdoors there are lots of distractions. That is where the real training begins! You are noticing what a lot of other people don't. Some people think that because their dog listens at home that outside is out of their control and the dog takes over. When you see a dog obey outside around other dogs, you know that owner has taken their dog training seriously.

Keep up the training, outside, add distractions. You may want to check out the Canine Good Citizen test www.akc.org It will give you something to shoot for when you are training.

you need to continue the on leash trianing outside. i would also suggest you take it to dog obediance class. This way it can learn to obey not only outside but with distractions.
I never again will allow my dogs to run loose and this in my story.
I had a mix she had been to many dog obeciance classes, was in dog obediance show for off leash she won first and second most of the time .
One day she got away from me and she absolutlely hated the UPS truck. Well that day one went bye and she took off, no matter how many times I yelled come she ran into the truck, broke her neck and at least she died immediatley.
I also know several people who had their dog boundry trained and one thing distacts them and they are in the road being hit by a car.
JRT are vey hyoer and fast, they are hunters and it will take the least little distraction and who knows swhat might happen.

i think of growling is usual for all canines, enormously people who seldom is going out of the domicile. i could assume your canines is small and of a delightful breed.Your canines is in all risk in basic terms performing like a to blame member of the p.c... She needs to comprehend who's there and growling is the only way he knows of the thank you to talk and guard and scare some stranger. What i could advise is have the centred visitor call your canines's call countless situations(the canines will ask your self why this guy or woman knows of her, perhaps she's a buddy?) have the canines scent him/her, and function the centred visitor provide her a take care of. in line with risk even feed her and walk her. do no longer isolate the canines while your centred visitor comes for a quick flow to. enable her extremely familiarize herself with the hot human. of direction, save a watch on the canines to make valuable she does not bite. be sure you do no longer enable the baby positioned her hand in front of the canines . in the adventure that your canines is colossal and a ferocious breed, i will think of two times approximately letting a small baby sleepover. desire this helps.

Yeah.. Inside is entirely different than outside.. Unless you work on ' come ' outside, and then with distractions, most dogs will not bother coming when they are outside. You have to basically teach it twice, if you are going to do it that way.. Nothing else to do in the house but come for a treat. There are milions of things better outside, than a silly old treat.

Keep working on it. You will need to train him around people so he listens to you in social situations, not just at home. If need be, enroll in K-9 training, it helps a lot !

if it obeys on the leash and not off, then your best bet is to train the dog OFF the leash untill he can learn to obey commands.
