I made a tie dye shirt in school and i used like 5 different colors, blue, red, yellow, orange and purple. My teacher said to run it in cold water until the water runs clear and there is no more dye in it. Its been about 24 hours and I just want to know what to use when I put it in the wash. I heard you have to put it on cold, but what about the dryer? Any kind of info is good

wash it cold, by itself for the first few washes, and probably dry it on the "fluff" setting. this way it won't shrink the shirt. it might fade a little in the dryer, but if you want to avoid that, then just wash it and air dry it.

The first time you wash it, wash it inside out in cold water, and if you have a color grabbing sheet use it. Also I would wash just the shirt and nothing else the first time. As for the dryer as long as it is a regular preshrunk cotton tshirt you should be able to dry it regular....

the best is to see if it has a care label and if not and you really like it, wash in mild detergent in cold water so colors don't bleed. It depends on the maker if they "set" they dyes.

Wash them one after the different for the first few cases. you may want to target it with the help of rinsing them contained in the bath or some thing that you will discover if the colors run contained in the water. If the water runs sparkling, it will be secure to bathe all of them mutually. sturdy success!

Um, when I made one, after I rinsed it I soaked it in vinegar for about twenty minutes then rinsed it again. After that I was able to wash and dry it in the machines no problem.
