From what I've seen, when a guy has a female best friend, chances are he's either wanted to be more than just friends with her at some point, or he's gay. That's not to say he'd cheat on you, but it'd be great for everyone involved if you attempted to fit in. In fact, try to befriend her and see what she's like. Chances are she's either very much like him or very much like you, anyway. If you feel threatened or jealous, be sure to let him know - if he respects your honesty and takes this into consideration, then you have nothing to worry about. If he gets defensive and sides with her, I'd think twice about a long-term relationship with someone who obviously has issues with being with this girl. Good luck!

I understand your feelings, but really, unless he gives you reason, don't waste your energy being jealous. I had a best friend in high school who was a guy, and his girlfriend was jealous of me for no reason. It made me feel really horrible, because we had absolutely no romantic feelings for each other, and she was a sweet girl. I wanted their relationship to work out. It didn't because of her possessive nature.

P.S- I'm sure that you have guys you like just as friends. There doesn't have to be something going on just because the two of them are opposite sexes. If that was the case, everybody would be getting together with each other.

You should not be jealous that he is best friends with a girl, but if it bothers you that much then you need to get some alone time with your boyfriend and talk to him, tell him that you need a little more attention and to let you know what is going on in his life. If you are jealous after that, then be jealous because you care about him not because you are worried that he might stray

That's sort of like this one girl I used to know, she was always jealous that her boyfriend has a girl best friend, and was always like paranoid when they went out just the two of them. But really, think about it...he's with you right? If he wanted to be with her, he wouldn't have asked you out in the first place. If you're really uncomfortable with them two hanging out alone, then talk to him and just confirm that they are just friends. I'm sure he'll tell you there is nothing to worry about it and that he likes you, not her!

My best friend is a guy and I'm married my husband doesn't get mad because he knows we would never do nothing behind his back. His bestfriend is a girl and I don't feel jealous for her because they are two different kinds of love. The love u have for a friend is deep but it will never compare to the love u have for your partner because they chose u for a reason. Now your bf could have chosen to be with his friend but he didn't because he loves u so be proud of that, u have him and she doesn't and that's all that matters. She's sweet don't ruin it for all of u guys accept her like he does.

Okay, I think that you need to be 'really careful' with this boyfriend ... and are you 'talking about marriage' to him yet, or not? I was in a 'situation' of being the 'best friend' of a guy, and I was 'totally jealous' of his 'future wife' even before he had MET HER ... until we'd done the 'one thing' that he'd told me he'd do ONLY WITH HIS ONE AND ONLY ONE WOMAN ... then I laughed myslef out of bed, because I'd been 'jealous of myself' ...
But you are his 'girlfriend' and he's still 'hanging out with his best friend' who is ALSO A GIRL ... and that WORRIES ME, because you aren't 'included' and I think that is an ALARM GOING OFF that he may not 'love you' enough ... if he did, he'd be 'hanging out with you' and not with her ...

So they hang out when your not around huh?Well maybe they "could" be doing something but i think you should ask your boyfriend what they do when your not around and maybe see if you can tag along with them some day....and if you feel that she comes on to strong with him let him know. he mite get alittle affended because their best friends but just explain your his girlfriend and you love her too but sometimes your just a little freaked out by the fact they hang out when your not around, see what he says then get back to me!

I don't find that weird. If she was there before you were then it's normal. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you try to tell him that he can't hang out with her alone then that is going to cause major problems in your relationship. Do not, under any circumstances, try to tell him who he can and cannot hang out with. Especially if you want to be with him for a while.

How long have they been friends? Just try to remember...if they were best friends before you and he were dating...they HAD the chance to become an item, and didn't. I wouldn't stress about it. I was best friends with my sister's husband before they married. I loved him to death, but wouldn't have dated him to save my life. There's NO way I would ever have seen him in a romantic light.

no, if you trust your boyfriend there should be no problem, men and women can be friends without anything going on. My best guy friend, and I hang out alone together, and never once did it cross my mind to make a move on him.
