Eating junk is not guaranteed to make you obese (if you have a fast metabolism). However, the only way to become obese is to consume an excess of empty calories. Although some people have slower metabolisms, only a corpse has a metabolism of zero.
Here is an analogy: If someone takes a car with a half tank of gasoline and returned it with a full tank of gasoline, the only possibility is that someone put more gasoline in the tank than the car used. The laws of physics do not change.
Also, as Justagrandma failed to point out, even the car that gets 70 mpg cannot make gasoline.

No. Everyone thinks so, but that isn't completely true. Obesity is either hereditary, or it's due to the fact that they over eat. But even so, junk food has empty calories, so they could be eating very little and still be consuming a lot of calories that they don't need. Plus, if you add that on top of eating even more food, then that's just another pile of calories ingested.

For most people eating like that will make them obese, for an adolescent male that may not be that unusual, we already know that men have a higher rate of metabolism than women, that's why they will lose weight more quickly. Don't make the mistake of thinking that you will be able to keep your figure when you are forty, eating like that.
Its absolutely true that some can eat like pigs and not gain weight, its just as true that some must eat minuscule portions or gain huge amounts. But no one thinks that the piggy eater has a character flaw.
Fitman, some cars get 70 mpg and others get 8.

I used to eat like that when I was a kid, with no problem, but now if I eat like that I gain weight.
Different people have different metabolism levels, so thats probably the main reason. Thats the injustice of food; some people can eat like a pig and be as skinny as a rail, and others can eat healthy but still have weight problems.
Another thing to think about:
Even if those foods don't make you gain weight, they will still cause you to have health problems later.
Case in point, I know a guy who for many years ate candy and other sweets and junk, and yet was skinny and in really good physical shape. In his 50's, he developed diabetes because he had eaten junk food for so many years.
For your own sake, you should really limit the amount of junk food you eat (it's okay every now and then, but don't eat it on a daily basis). Trust me, if you keep eating so much fast food and other junk, it will come back to haunt you later.

because for many it is a major contributing factory. junk food is high calorie, low in nutrients and does not keep one feeling full for long so overeating is quite common. a diet that is based on junk foods has a very negative impact on the endocrine system. along with a sedentary lifestyle it's pretty much a recipe for disaster.
for the most part the metabolism of adolescents should be able to adapt to either a high carbohydrate or a high fat diet. those (teens) that easy gain weight most likely have some genetic predisposition for weight gain.

You're only 18! Most teenagers/young persons have a really high metabolism. Continue eating like you do, and re-write this sentence when you are 35. I'm sure you won't be complaining about being underweight.

Eating too much of ANY sort of food will make you pack on the pounds (you, my friend, are still in your "invincible years" - but that will not last forever). It doesn't matter if it's fast food you're gorging on, or the finest five-star fare; if calories consumed routinely exceeds calories burned, you will gain weight. Period. End of story.
People like to blame "junk food" because it it convenient to do so, and the media encourages that blame, and people are getting out of the habit of thinking for themselves (something else the media encourages).
