Noxema Is good for helping the pain and it does add moisture to the skin. There's no way to stop the skin from peeling. It's been damaged and it has to come off. Skin cancer is increasing rapidly because there's less protection in our atmosphere from the damaging rays of the sun. You should never be in the sun without suntan lotion or block. You want to do everything you can to prevent skin cancer.

Nothing "heals" a sunburn. It is just like a burn on your finger. The burnt skin has been burnt. What you need to do is stop the burning. The coolness of the Noxema does help with this, but you might as well use pure aloe vera, which is cheaper.

One thing I did once when I had a sunburn over most of my body was to soak in a cool (not cold) tub to soothe the skin.

As far as peeling, you can keep the skin moisturized, but it is dead and is coming off one way or the other.

It doesn't heal the sunburn but it does help soothe it somewhat. Just slather some on and let it sit there and soak in.
I do know of a better fix for getting the burn out of the sunburn though, and thats swabbing vinegar onto it. Plain white vinegar. Yes it smells horrible but it works if you can handle smelling close to a salad for a bit.

As for the peeling, I've always just made sure my burns stayed moisturized real well and constantly.

Hope this helps some.

Try Aloe Vera gel. It helps heal the burn and the peeling.
