It does suck that Mikey is having so many problems this year, but you can't give up on your guy. Having a couple favorite drivers makes it easier to get through tough times, but we must remain loyal to our favorites. I am a Rusty Wallace, now Kurt Busch fan, so I know disappointment, granted not like the Mikey thing this year, but, hopefully they will get something figured out soon, The red bull teams are coming together, and Reutimann has been the driver to knock Mikey out at alot of the races, otherwise he would have raced. All I'm saying is part of what makes this sport great is the loyalty to drivers. Anyone can root for who's winning, but with what's going on in Nascar today, I think in a way I have a different respect for the guys in the dodges and toyotas especially, they know they don't have equipment to hang with the fords, so the chevy's are not even in the zip code, but they go out and race their hearts out. As fans we can just root for who wins the most, but in a way that shows a lack of character. The fact that Mikey is your favorite shows that you don't just like the guys that win (no offense) So I would hate to see ya give up on Mikey. Root for David while Mikey takes the week off and hopefully we will get to watch Mikey race next week.

That would probably be a good idea because Waltrip isn't going to qualify any time soon. That team is making zero progress. I don't know why people are so surprised. It is surprising that he ins't qualifying, but he never was a really good driver. He only won at restrictor plate races where anyone could have won and it was done when DEI ruled the restrictor plate races. If you look at the history, there is always a team that dominates those tracks for a certain time and then it switches to another team who's r&d has surpassed others. He was at DEI at the right time, but he never won anywhere else. And don't count the all star race. If it isn't a ponts race, it does not count.

Were you really expecting something else? Michael is not a very good driver. Yes he won the 500 twice and at Talladega, but he was in a dominant car at the time. DEI was unstoppable on the plate tracks and he had some help from Junior on a couple of those. Michael Waltrip is not and has never been a good driver. Let's hope his Owner's hat fits better than his Driver's hat. He is one hell of a salesman.

Yes, unfortunately I think its time to move on. Michael Waltrip took a really big chance by not only starting his own team, but driving for it as well. I hated to see that both Michael and Jarret didn't make the race. That team really needs some good luck.

MW had bitten off more than he could handle. Whats bad, is the fact that he knew being a car owner and a car driver does not mix anymore, but he still felt that he could do. But why, when he had a startup team and a start up car model. Go figure, but at least 1 of his cars got in and he might have made it, if he hadn't crashed on his 2nd qualifying lap.

The biggest laugh is reserved for Toyota......those officials fell for Waltrip's fast talking sales pitch. Arguably the worst driver to win the Daytona 500.

Toyota does have a good team, Red Bull. They have had both of their cars qualify, even in the same race. This has been hard, especially for AJ Allmendinger who is coming from CCWS.

I couldn't believe it when I was watching qualifying and I realized that Mikey is still in negative territory with regards to points as a result of Daytona.
Wow.

My personal opinion -- that's what you get when you plunk Toyota into stock car racing. It's a dirty shame that MW has missed every race this season...hopefully he'll drop Toyota like a hot potato!
