xcuse me John L but give real answers and not just to gain points. Srry i just hate wen ppl do that.
Neways save all ur documents, music, movies, etc.
then put in the xp disk into ur computer
reboot and boot from cd
follow the instructions and erase the partition by following the directions, then create a new partition by pressing c and make it as big as possible.
Next just follow the intruction and ur computer should reboot into xp setup and from their it should boot into xp
then just move over ur documents etc.
Make sure u put ur documents etc on a other deices besides ur hard drive whick will be reformatted.

make sure you have vista full version DVD and all the necessory drivers for your hardware.
if you know how to get to the win vista set up, delete the existing xp partition,
then create a new partition, format, install vista. :)
just follow the screens.

First you need to make sure your computer is compatible with windows vista, because I wanted to upgrade it and it turns out my computer would of had alot of problems. Plus Vista has a lot of bugs.

Insert CD, reboot computer and boot from CD. You may have to set the boot order in your computers BIOS to have the CD be the first boot device. Once you get that working you'll be prompted to boot from CD, you'll have the option to format the drive during installation.
