im taking my friend to my prom but her dad is a bit restricted and he doesnt like me...but we r best friends! im 18 and she is 17 , now if her dad finds out that , could he sue me or not ?

Sue you for what? Just make sure you don't have sex with her as you are an adult by law and she is not which means it's called rape even if she wanted it. Your best bet is to take her to the prom and have another couple in the car when you drive her straight home. It's always good to have witnesses.

For what? Taking his daughter to prom? Any lawyer would tell him he's crazy for trying to make a case out of that. And sue you for what? You can't make every much money right now and I'm sure you don't have much capital.

What? No, what would he sue you for? She is making the decision to go with you. It's not like you signed a legal contract saying you wouldn't take her to the prom.
A judge would laugh in this guys face if he tried to sue you. You are more likely to make it on Jerry Springer than you are to find yourself being sued in court.

You can file a suit for about anything and usually find an attorney that will do any dumb thing for money. Just because her dad does not like you is not a ground for a suit. You are not liable for anything.

What are you doing that he's going to sue you? Legal age of consent in most states is 16 so even if you have sex if she says it was consentual you cannot be charged with statutory rape.

He can, but he will either lose very quickly or be told by a lawyer not to. But this is dumb. He's not going to sue you! But if you have sex, then, depending on what country your in, it is rape if charges are pressed.

Nope, but in then end, it all depends what you guys do @ prom. Just don't do anything that he could end up pressing charges with (Depending in what state you live).
