He's 22 years older than me, and I'm 27. I've tried, but he keeps saying we'll have plenty of time later. He's really wonderful, but he's said he needs to work some things out in his mind for a bit before it happens. For a bit means a couple of months, as he said this last night. He's physically affectionate (hugs, quick kisses), complimentary, and gets googly-eyed. But he's not going forward. Is this normal? Is it chivalry? STD? Has anyone else had this experience? He knows I want at least a make-out session... but he's not "ready" yet. I've never been with a man who's not ready... Thoughts?

Well, if he is 49 he may have problems with impotence. Naturally he will not want you to know this if you two have not known each other very long. Maybe he is trying to see a physician about this problem and is trying to get viagra. Try and talk with him if you are comfortable with him, and get him to open up to you. Communication is the key to a good relationship, and be tactful with him. He is afraid to start something with you he can not finish at this time.

It's not normal, but he maybe scarred from his last attempt at a relationship. My last attempt was awful, and I haven't been brave enough to have sex with anyone for years now. The question is whether you want to wait or not. Have you tried overpowering him by showing up topless some afternoon? If that doesn't work, he may be a lost cause.

Don't complain. I think it's very sweet that he's not pressuring you for sex . It means that he wants you for more than just sex which is rare these days. Also, there is the possibility that he may be is experiencing impotence and is embarrassed. No matter what, I highly recommend to keep the lines of communication open and try not to be judgemental.

He might be struggling with the embarrassment of impotence, even though his heart is in the right place.
Ask him if he finds you sexually attractive ? Tell him your an adult with needs and you want to enjoy "togetherness" with him. Assure him if theres a medical problem you'd like to see him through it....next stop Viagraville.

but, if i were you, i'd break up with him and tell him to come back to you when hes figured things out, you dont really want to be stuck in a relationship where all you do is hug
