It all depends on the CPU pin set and requrements for the processor to work, but im guessing that you probably cannot. Typically, as processor technology increases, everything changes, including mother boards, memory (ram), hard drive imputs (ATA, SATA, Serial), even the power supplies change. I would have to say check out online stores that supply mother boards and processors, and try to find out what pin set your mother board currently has (it should say "SOCKET #" right on the socket, # being the number of pins the processor has... i hope this helps! :) email me if you need more assistance.

Some older Pentium Slot motherboards can take either P2 or P3, but very rare now.

i agree with everyone else u have to check but i think they changed the socket that year Intel started making P3s so i dont think u can upgrade and most p2 came as a slot processor and p3s did up to 800 mhz. so it wont be a big upgrade even if u could do it.
