Guys in high school are like bulletproof vests. Sure they like to protect themselves and keep the ultimate things from hurting them, but the reality is a vest can only protect so much on a person - leaving the face to be very vulnerable. The same goes with guys. Sure we put up a front to be "masculine" and say we don't cry, but in reality, that just screams "I'm vulnerable, but have been told not to be - essentially, I'm more emotional because it's all bottled up!" Society tells teenagers to be this way because the hormones are in control, their brains aren't so much. I know when I was in high school I cried because things were sad. If I was in some other high school guy's position and said I didn't cry, it's because I've either 1) never faced sadness, or 2) am lying because I don't want someone to think I'm weak. That's the truth. Guys lie because the truth hurts. If guys told girls what they tell other guys, they'd feel bad about something or feel like they're not living up to an ideal "male" expectation. Good luck!

Here is the thing as most guys grow up they are taught to be tough and be manly. don't show emotions look hard, so most guys do not show their emotion except maybe with some of their closest family or friends. So if you not apart of that you will never know if the guy cries. Because if gets out guys are afraid it will take away from their manhood. Me personally I will say I never cried, however I know that will be a lie. I read book once "men cry in the dark" by Micheal Baisden every since then I cry in my attic when I get down, however keep that on the dl

Most guys cry but they don't want people to know about it. To be fair (though it's actually unfair), guys are taught that crying is weak and weak men are pansies and pansies never get anything good and will never attract women.
I know this sounds bad, but as a woman, I like to see a man cry. Not like yay, he's crying. But just that he's gotten past being afraid of that part of himself. It's healthier to let it out every now and again than to try to repress any emotion that somehow might go against the ever-important machismo that they wish to possess. Okay, it's not cute when they cry all the time--but I don't like it when women cry all the time either.
Guys in high school are--in general, not always--immature. That's the difference. Mature people can own up to emotions better than immature people. And rep is HUGE in high school.

I haven't had a death in the family anytime recently, but I'll tell you one thing...I'm in high school. I have only cried a few times in the past several years.
One of them was when I moved and I couldn't see my father anymore (I see him once or twice a year now).
One other time is when my girlfriend broke up with me. Those are the two times I can remember crying in the past...two or three years.
So I suppose it is true, to some extent. I personally haven't cried all that much, but I think that it differs. I know guys that admit to crying often. Those guys are mostly the ones with very loose views on relationships, and the grief probably stems from relationship issues, though.
I hope this helped.

It depends on the man. Some cry way to much.
Some cry in open when something really bad, or really good hapens like the death of a loved one, or cry from happiness when the woman they love says yes to marriage.
Some only only infront of thier wives, and some cry only in private.
Teen agers usually experience less loss than older adult. If you can show me a teen ager that has lost a close relative, but never cried. I will show you a teen ager that has some bad problems.
Guys who have never cried either have had an extemely blessed life, are liars , or are inhumane.

Once in a blue moon. I have only really cried 2 times (well really one, i couldnt cry the second time because i was dehydrated).
Its got to be something huge, something that really hits home like crazy for a guy to cry, say a family member dying or seeing someone you love getting hurt. Something like that.
Teenagers are more likely to cry though, they are just boys playing the persona of tuff guys after all. They wont know **** about tough till they stop sucking from mummas boosm and move out of home.
They wont admit it though, understandably

Most guys are taught to be a man by their fathers and that crying is not manly. Some guys just don't show their emotions. There are other men out there who are sensitive and don't mind showing their emotions which include crying. I think the ones you are talking about are the ones who were taught it was not manly, but all men are not like that. Just because a guy won't admit to crying doesn't mean that he doesn't do it in private. I think there are unemotional men and women out there, as well as emotional ones. So you can't really group everyone together.

Most of us, high school guys, would like everyone one to think we don't cry. But really we do cry. The majority of teenage guys (16, 17) say they haven't cried since they were kids, but it happens. People cry, it's a way of releasing frustration, not necessarily pain.
But don't let that fool you into thinking that guys have a sensitive side that would cry with there girlfriend after watching The Notebook, cause hardly any do, and those who do cry over things like that are douches.
We cry when we get frustrated, but not over sadness, crying with the girlfriend, etc.

some guys really just don't, and some won't admit it. Any guy with a passion has. Once i had the worst day ever at baseball practice, i just messed everything up, and a shed a few tears when we sat on the bench. So yea, any guy that has a passion for anything, sports especially, or any guy who has suffered a hug loss, probably has too. I'd say 80% of guys that say they don't are lieing
