i heard if i put them in a sealed enclosure they will blow ?? is tiz tru,,,do they have to go into into a ported enclosure???

Alpine's published application guide for the Type R includes recommended box volumes for both sealed and ported enclosures, so clearly it's not true that they require a ported box.
Just about any subwoofer will be damaged more easily in a ported box than a sealed box, especially if you don't use a sub-sonic filter.

i just wanted to say from experience type r 12s beat, and i know someone who has had them in a sealed enclosure, didnt blow em so thats probably just a myth

nope it is not true they will have a different sound but they will not blow. I personally think they slap harder in a sealed
