or is it impossible to repent for those who are willfully sinning? was the blasphemy against the spirit not forgiven because its persistantly the opposite attitude of that, or can someone do something that they can never be forgiven for, even if they do humble themselves, confess it, and turn from their sins? Do some know they are guilty but cannot repent? Or are these verses talking about someone who is unwilling too, or stuck in their ways? are all sins forgiven when someone seeks forgiveness, or are these willful sins beyound forgiveness even then?

Those verses from Hebrews really scared me once. But what they really say is that if you have turned from God, you stand in very real danger of condemnation. If they persist in squandering the grace they've been given through Jesus' blood, they will face hell in the end. But it is also clear that these verses speak of one who has been saved, and not one who has never turned to Christ because they enjoyed a sinful lifestyle. If you've just been running from Him, knowing you were doing wrong, then these verses aren't even about you. You just need to repent now, for the first time, if that's the case.

I know this: If a person feels guilty and knows their need for forgiveness, that's the Holy Spirit. And if they are sensing Him, then they can still respond. God wouldn't convict an individual's heart of sin and then refuse to give forgiveness if they repent.

I've been forgiven after committing what I would have to honestly say was willful sin. Don't continue on estranged from God because you believe you've overdrawn from His deposit of grace. You haven't.

Any sin can be forgiven. The only problem with blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is that the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts and if you don't believe in Him how can you be convicted. If in doubt, pray anyway and ask for forgiveness.

To repent means to turn away from...so, if you are willing to do your best to turn away from a sin...then you are forgiven when you confess it. No sin is to great for God to forgive. Read about Saul....and you will understand what I mean.

1 John 1:8-9 says that if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. No matter how willful we think a sin is committed in the past is not the question anymore for Christ has nailed it all already to His cross 2000 yaers ago. Jesus has already paid them all. Its no more a sin question but a Son question. Do you receive Christ as your Lord God and Saviour? Salvation is Personal. Between you and Him.

I was taught that if you ever repent, it wasn't really willful.

One thing I think is important, however... If someone else's sin does not directly impact you, you should stay out of it and let that person deal with his/her own conscience. Threatening hell or Gehenna or whatever is not a reasonable argument for someone who needs to work out what's right and wrong.

well bud what exactly is sin? sin is what u think it is. sin was fabricated by the church and state to scare people into not having fun and living a life worth living.your definition of sin can change from the next persons definition.see me i dont believe in sin because i dont believe in the church. now i do have a opinion of right and wrong as does everybody else but to say its a sin no i dont think so. sin is a myth to keep u scared of death and to keep you enslaved to the church be your own man and live

To ask for forgiveness and repent, does not give you permission to do it again, and again.

But, first we must forgive those who have ever sinned against us, and "love" them too.

You can repent anything at any time. It will not make the slightest difference whether or when you do so.
