I think we'd be better off is we didn't think about winning or losing in Iraq. After 6 years of rubber stamping by a republican congress, things have just gotten worse, and this new bill in the democratic congress is just another rubber stamp to let Bush do whatever he wants. Once we end the occupation, Iraq will either have civil war or it won't. Let Iraq sort itself out and bring our troops home. 80% of Iraqi citizens want us out. Well over 50% of Iraqi Parliament wants us out. We've created more terrorist by being there. Why stay?

The Iraqi government. They have done three elections so far and a third of their half million force has been trained, equipt and are on their own. It's kind of hard to defeat a growing force.
As far as the other side goes, which is actually several sides, they aren't doing to well. The Sunnis have broken of with Al Qaida, the Shiite leadership has fled to Iran and death from violence has dropped 50% from last year. So the enemy ability to fight effectively has been cut in half since last year.

Ya'll need to get off the military board if you are NOT going to back the Military. This is sad.
Nobody is "winning". The USA will fight this war until we finish what we are doing and then once all is well they will end the war and the US will become even stronger. The al- quaida, terrorists, insurgents and liberals will never win because GOOD OVERCOMES EVIL.

From even before this idiocy began the world banking system has been the winner. US military contractors and oil contractors are the two runners-up.

Politicians. Hating it or supporting it is what gets them elected, and prevents the situation from getting any better.

The terrorists, Iran, and all those other countries, but they aren't doing anything. It's all our stupid politics. The Dems hate Bush just cause he's Rep. so they go against him. They don't have to support him, but for Christ's sake, he's our pres., and they should support him!
