This was the question of Jesus´s disciples to Jesus.
Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

Matthew 24: 7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

This prophecy is true as of this day. The evidence is clear. But no fear these things will end in God's due time 2Peter 3:9 says-Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. So Jehovah even gives hope for nonbelievers. Showing just how loving a God he really is.

Start? It is already happening. The Scriptures and doctrine of Jesus is being carried into nations that have been atheist for almost a century or even longer. In many cases, their lives are in danger. There is religious strife all over the world.

Answering with the words of Jesus:
"Of the time and day nobody knows, nor the angels, not the Son, only the Father in heaven knows"
But one thing he did say as well: "everybody will see the Son of man ()coming in glory"

Keep your lamp lit, and don't listen to any rumors or any prophet of doom, because NOBODY KNOWS! Ok, bye

No prophesy has been understood before its fulfillment. That is the nature of prophesy. Men have ample opportunity to observe truth and lead a just life. Warnings have been sent by God that will not be understood by those who even have their eyes open, so that after fulfillment they may believe even more.
The church has been persecuted for all time. There have been wars and famines. Natural disasters occur throughout history. The best each generation can do is try to learn from God's word and live as though fulfillment were at hand. No amount of foreknowledge or attempting to bring about the end with a forceful hand will work, for it will all be done in God's own time.
My greatest fear is that there will be a nuclear holocaust. My greatest joy is that Christ will return and escort me home.
Edit:
The old testament prophesies of Christ were clear only if read in the context of our current understanding. During all the time they were known to the preChristian Jews the meaning was obscured to their sight, thus the saying "he came to his own and they knew him not". Had they known his identity they would have set him up as a ruler on earth for the Jewish nation instead of allowing the perfect will of God to be fulfilled. Through him all men were to be saved, not just one nation of people.
The old testament law required man to live a perfect life in accordance with God's law in order for salvation to be realized. God knew this was impossible for man to do so He required them to sacrifice the first born of their flocks to Him. This selfless act served the purpose of holding them as righteous to the recollection of God until He allowed His own first born to die in their place. God's sacrifice is sufficient to wash away the sins of all mankind who have faith in Him and call upon His name. The prophesies in Matthew and Revelations will be understood just as well as we understand old testament prophesies now when the time comes for fulfillment. We live with understanding of the words and meanings in the framework of where the church is now without knowledge of the timing.

Id say we are definetetly in the period
listed, but the truth is nobody knows the
hour he will come.
So everything that is written really encourages to fear the lord....
Thats the only logic behind what is written.

Verse 8, "All these are the beginning of sorrows."

A better translation of the word "sorrows" here would be birth pains. I believe these sorrows or birth pains have allready started, but I won't be foolish enough to try to date the end-times. No one but the Father knows.

they've already began to take place, all we're waiting for now are the 2 witnesses (who everyon will think are the antichrist and false prophet) and then the antichrist and his false prophet will come on the scene and everyone will think they're Jesus and John the baptist, then the mark of the beast, the microchip implant and then the real Messiah comes and rules for 1000 years!!
