Well, one time a 'friend' of mine fed me some "Mountain Oysters" and they tasted NASTY!! I found out later that there is no indigenous seafood in the Smoky Mountains. As it turns out, the so-called 'oysters' are Hog Testacles!! It's no wonder they tasted nasty.

I think the worst thing I've ever tasted would be a Durian...
They're huge spikey fruits that are really popular in asia. They smell, literally, like rotten eggs, garlic, onions and fecal matter depending on the fruit, time, area, etc.
supposedly, they also taste incredible, but like really smelly cheese they take time to get used to. The problem is that the smell of a durian fruit actually rots in seconds while the flesh stays fresh.

Liver and cottage cheese. My mother tried so many different ways to disguise them or hide them but nothing worked. I still had to eat them and gagged every time. I swore then and there that I would never force my kids to eat anything they didn't like. Of course they had to try it a couple times first and if they still didn't like whatever it was they didn't have to eat it.
Ironically my wife loves liver and cottage cheese. One time she was on a special diet from her doctor that included a lot of liver. When she cooked it I had to go outside.
