Many of your lives are built on power, electrical power. What happens when it fails? And it surely will fail one day. I see a great reversal coming. Atheists will realize their education is next to useless, and beg for help. Christians will feel abandoned, and strike out in their fear.

And it will begin again, Babylon. Scattered....shattered....ashamed...

Again I ask Atheists and Christians, how will you live?

I will tell you what I think will happen.

There will be a major panic attack across America. Because the good life will be over. Imagine what one dirty bomb exploded over the U.S. will do. The history channel already said it could devastate the majority of the electrical system in the U.S. if one went off over the central part of the country.

Only those who are deeply grounded in God will make it. Because with out him people will flip out. Crime will increase, there will be a food shortage( no refrigeration). No money (the banks can't operate). No gas.(electric pumps) How much of our lives depend on electricity? Everything.

This would be a major tribulation, something we have never seen, but the world has. We would be back in the stone age.

I may not have answered this very well. But I can say this is a very good question.

Living in a region that had an extended blackout, i would say you make it sound gloomier than it is. Not sure what religion has to do with being without power. Atheists and Christians alike will live like people lived for thousands of years before we harnessed the power of electricity with the advantage of havinga lot more accumulated knowledge. They say there is no such thing as a stupid question, but questions like this make me wonder.

I'm a Christian of the LDS variety. We have been warned and forwarned. We all (more or less) know the oil crisis is coming, and the age of cheap power is nearly at an end. We need to prepare now to change our ways of life... ie educate ourselves to live sustainably and start to implement that knowledge. Possibly there will be no mass transport, so we need to learn basic skills like home gardening, food storage, animal husbandry... etc. We can all start doing that now.

With the internet, we have very little excuse for not being educated and prepared for whatever the future may hold. I don't hold to the theory that God will miraculously save me/us, especially if I haven't done my part to prepare.

Living out in the sticks as we do (20 miles from the nearest town), a power outage is not the end of the world to us. It happens frequently and we have learned to live with it. I would of course miss the conveniences and my computer but other than that I don't think we would have any trouble simply surviving. It would be much more difficult of course in winter here in Minnesota but it could still be done. We are very resourceful. We are Christians.

Heh... ever since childhood I always made sure I was studying something with a workable skill, so not all education is "useless"... Christians aren't the only ones who will strike out, but as I always say with everything: I'll either live or die... no biggie. The concern of mine is the PRESENT moment and learning to become more altruistic, compassionate, etc. and not be clingy to things that are impermanent.

You are suggesting right here that your brain may also be purchased. You are announcing that if I promised you adequate, you'll brainwash your self into believing something I informed, regardless of how irrational, merciless and with out proof you simply on the grounds that you desired what I supplied you. You cross so far as to mention you could decide on to feel this although I used to be mendacity. How are you able to reside that method? To be a slave to such selfishness and fantasy sounds bad to me. Please re-evaluate your explanations and loose your brain. The fact must no longer be discipline you your petty fears and needs. EDIT: There are an terrible lot of hate stuffed solutions right here from Christians claiming that I am morally degenerate despite the fact that they have no idea me. Why could they demonize and stereotype if that they had ANY rational argument to make? This is an advert homenim assault. Please observe that in which you may have recommended a wish for gift, such a lot atheists have stated they require none. You were taught to peer your selfishness as a advantage and to worry all different methods different pondering on the grounds that we are painted as subhuman by way of your fellow Christians. Think. Why could they need to cross there? Is that the "love" of your god shining by way of them or is it their worry and hate on the grounds that I pose a danger to their fantasy and for this reason to their notion in a gift? They are like puppies protecting imaginary bones. They are rabid, deluded and with out regret after they lie approximately any one who would "take their bone".

Lets see it will include everybody....
and every living thing.
So food will get hard to get.
I'm taking your interpretation as in a nuclear
inhalation.
We wont last long at all if everything was
contaminated.
Food would have the highest value.
Id say now technology is the ultimate trap
being set for the kill I agree.
I think everybody would feel pretty desolate,
but we would all pull together as a human
race to recover, it wouldnt be the first time,
look at Japan.

I agree there's a strong probability of such a future. However, science and technology may be the only hope we have. Since atheists are more likely to be into science and technology, they have at least a fighting chance of surviving the future. We are planning for it with solar, gardening, etc. Guns will no doubt be requisite.

That said, there are some sects of fundamentalist Christians who are into survivalism. Also those who never did accept technology, like the Amish.

Honestly, long term, does anyone really imagine homo sapiens sapiens will last as long as, say, T Rex?

Beg pardon? What makes you think that all my education will be next to useless just because I'm an atheist?

I'm kind of a survivalist. I live out in the woods, I can hunt and fish. There isn't too much I can't do.

I will manifest all that I need in my hands. What about you, your picture looks like your riding a lawn mower, so you must have advanced technology beyond all man here on earth huh.
Just kidding with you. Are you amish?
I am not reliegious in any way. But the Father and I are ONE. And when do you THINK this is going to happen? I know it is coming and I am prepared, both mentally and physically. I hope your ready. I can't seem to save anyone. No one believes, that is, in the general population. Wise ones are already prepared. If you would like to know when, just drop me an email and I will tell you.

The first week will be full of people getting whacked our and violent, looting everything. Although industries will cease, people will all be occupied looking for food and hording. People would begin to barter for things, mistrusting money right away. Firearms are prevalent enough that they will be a factor for a long time. People will immediately change their diet to grass. They'll kill all the animals. There will not be enough farm land, fertilizer, irrigation, and the equipment is dead. Most people have seen "Alive" and they'll start eating and bartering with people meat. The fewer humans the better.
