Guess I should mention that I already have pretty short hair, to the bottom of my ear lobes and it is cut pretty close to my head if you know what I mean. =) Thanks!

It depends on the age and what you comfterble doing. If you are daring go short on the sides and long on the top. The spike the top. Or go for a mid ear cut with longer bangs on each side.
