Hump back is called Kyphosis and I had it. The cause probably too many hours working in a office at a desk over accounts. How did I get rid of it? I did nine months at Pilates, once a week for one hour and learned about posture, muscles, how to realign the back. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, so once a week at Piltes was enough for me, but now all my clothing hangs correctly.

Poor posture is the leading cause of a "hunched back". If you find it difficult to keep standing and sitting up straight, it's because your core muscles that keep you erect are lax and weak. You need to start a core strengthening plan involving abdominal strengthening exercises, use of an exercise ball, and learning how to keep you pelvic tilt as you stand and walk. The best way to get a home exercise program fashioned for you is to see a physical therapist. A hunched back and poor posture is the leading cause for neck/back and overall spine pain and disorders.

This is a curvature of the spine..... You can try to stop folding your arms to begin with... When you fold your arms the muscles on your back relax and the muscles on your chest contract causing you to pull your shoulders forward and down.... it is habit forming muscle conditioning... and difficult to rectify. Some people have a natural curvature of the spine.. that's an entirely different issue... but the remedy is the same.
You should see a physio to get some guidance to strengthen the appropriate muscle groups.. to help re-align it.

You need to stand up taller always, better posture. If you work out, focus more on your back muscles, deltoids, traps, lats, etc. that will help pull your shoulders back and make you look less hunchback.
