My daughter is 4 half and she has this thing..where i guess shes masterbating sorta. She rubs herself across the carpet til she "gets off" or something ..it reallybothers me and my doctor said to tell her to go to her room but dont make a big deal about it because itll give her a complex. Well she does this all the time 5 or 6 times a day sometimes more. She came down stairs with my viberator in her pants not in her underwear just her pants. I took it away and put it up. It freaks me out!! I dont know why or how she knows to do what she does... Why does she keep doing that?!! should i make her go back to the doctor?! is this normal?!

I think that it is fairly normal. Kids like to explore themselves. My daughter is 3 1/2 and she also like to look at herself and touch herself. I dont like her doing that also...so I try not to make a big deal of it and try to shift her attention elsewhere. But the thing with her is that she only does it when she is changing and doesnt have any clothes on. She doesnt do it otherwise. But still I am thinking that what your child is doing is fairly normal. I have also heard that you should not make a big deal out of stuff like this because it could lead to other serious problems in the future. If you want to discuss it with you doctor though then feel free to do so, because he can maybe give you some more advice on how to deal with it a little better.

She's just exploring herself. When children find out that something feels good they're going to keep doing it. They discover things all the time. Just like when everyone starts masturbating. It doesn't mean she's being abused she's just discovering new things. Just keep an eye on her and just make sure you start talking to her about not letting anyone touch her there and stuff like that. My guess is that she was just doing something one time and she figured out, "Well hey, if I keep doing this, it will feel good" My niece started doing this also and her doctor said the same thing. It's normal and don't make a big deal out of it!

Okay, I don't think there is anything wrong with your child. To admit when I was her age I did the same thing because I thought it felt good. This doesn't mean she is being sexually abused by her father. My father never touched me, I just figured it out for myself. She is just discovering her body at an early age. If you tell her it is wrong she will devleope a stigma that will make her feel dirty or wrong about herself. Try talking to her about it and see how that goes.

She's just exploring her body and what feels good. I'm sure she didn't know what the vibrator was...just that the vibration felt good.

I wouldn't worry too much about it but I would watch her carefully and who she's hanging around with/watching on tv. She's getting the ideas from somewhere.....

Try not to make a big deal out of it....it's possible that she's doing it to get your attention too......

good luck!
