Since atheist means a-theist or non-theist, and a deist is not a theist, all deists are therefore atheists.

Lol, the prefix itself a- comes from the greek not, like a-nemia. So atheist means not-theist, or somebody that is not a theist. A deist is not a theist.
1. All non-theists are atheists.
2. A deist is not a theist.
3.Therefore, a deist is an atheist...
Unless agnostics also somehow hold a positive yet unsure view of the existence of a personal god, they are all atheists too.

Weak atheists think exactly that - they don't believe in god. Strong atheists, however, will say they believe there is no god. This not a lack of belief stance since they actually do believe something. By the way, with the exception of polytheists, every person out there who believes in any god is an atheist toward all but one god. Atheists just have the commitment to take that extra step.

no you are wrong. if you are going to go to the meaning of each part of the word you must do so with every part. a- means not or non yes you got that right. theist means "god believing" so if you throw them together you get "not god believing" or "non god believers". for words you may be able to understand, atheists means you dont believe in god(s)
btw, deist is the belief in god based on the happenings of nature. so deists are theists.

Not even close.
atheist come from the greek word atheos, which translates directly as "godless"
Even accepting your premise, the prefix "a" actually means "without", so even using your equation it would more accurately be:
a (without) the[o] God and the "ist" denoting someone who embraces a particular thought.
interesting trivia: the term "atheist" existed for more than a hundred years BEFORE "theist". "Theist" and "Deist" are actually derived from "atheist"--not the other way round.

Atheist, no belief in god, a Deist believes in a god or a higher power but is not held to any religion. And that "god" doesn't interfere in anyway with our lives.

Deists ARE theists, but they think that the supernatural first-cause no longer intervenes in the workings of the universe.

Because that's what it is. Think of the prefixes you use...
non-sexual= completely abstinent
asexual= indigenous pregnancy
atheist= knowledge of nonexistent deities
non-theist= someone who unknowingly separates themselves form the importance of proving this or that about religion.
Kat, you should be ashamed of yourself. You believe in a ghost, and I don't. Religion is not common sense.
