A couple of months ago i broke my left wrist. It was almost basketball season when i got my cast off and i really wanted to play so i took a tennis ball and squeezed it. My health/gym teacher told me that this would help it get stonger and back to normal.

GOOD LUCK!!

Wrists are fragile. The more you work them and use them the weaker they get. Not stronger. Wrists are basically joints and tendons, rather than muscle, which can be strengthened.
If you do apply more stess to your wrists to try to make them stronger, the long term effects are going to trouble you sooner. Like Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.

One exercise that we used to do (before these fancy gadgets came onto the market) was to take a wooden dowel (like the one in your closet), drill a hole in it, run a length of clothes line through the hole and tie it off. Tie a loop in the other end. Tie the loose end through the hole in the middle of a barbell weight.
Sit in a chair with your elbows on your knees. Start rolling the dowel so that the rope curls up on it until the weight is to the dowel. Let it down slowly, then repeat.

Forearm exercises - forearm curls and forearm twists especially.
There aren't any muscles in your wrists, only tendons, so you can't really strengthen your wrists, fyi.
