You won't believe it, but THE BEST CURE for sunburns, or any burns, for that matter is the next:
Get a RAW potato and, with a peeler, get paper thin slices. Apply these to affected area and let them sit until the potato turns brown. When the burn is really nasty, it's best to wrap it with any sort of bandage to hold the potatoes in place. Do not rinse for at least a couple of hours.
Even on 2nd and 3d degree burns, it will stop blisters to appear and will heal very quickly.
I always keep my potatoes in the fridge, so they're chilled and serve this purpose even better.

RE:
Sunburn relief? I went to the beach and got terrible sunburn on 95% of my body!?
My friend recommended baby oil instead of sunblock in order to accomplish our mission of getting a great summer tan. I know I am a total idiot for listening to her, but now I am covered head to toe with excruciating 2nd degree sunburn over my entire body, save for the small areas where my teeny...

an old tried and true is a vinegar bath. I know it sounds wierd, and you smell like a pickle for a little while, but fill a tub with a couple of gallons of plain white vinegar, it isn't expensive, and use a sponge to get it all over your body, it will take the burn way down. Then shower in cool water. Or you can just stand in the tub and pour it all over yourself, but keep sponging it on until the sting of the burn is gone.

Baby oil acts like cooking oil on your skin when you get out in the sun. You may wish to go to the doctor or I'm not sure if you may be able to buy it over the counter, but there is a cream called Silvadene that is just for burns. You might want to call a pharmacy and see if you can get it without prescription

I have tried the vinegar thing. Just put a bottle of it in cool bath water and soak for a while, it really helps!! I think the white vinegar is better, and real aloe vera is best.
By the way, DON'T buy the aloe vera with alcohol in it, check the labels before you buy.

Gosh! the baby oil literally FRIED your skin! Go to your doc or the nearest hospital, they'll prescribe just the right stuff for you depending on how bad it really is.
