I personally feel that there should be a healthy balance of qualities. It also depends on the situation that might arise in a specific situation. If a male prefers a totally independent, assertive woman, I think that he might have some issues. That particular male could have been raised by a dominant mother, and has a very low self esteem. On the other side of the coin, A male who prefers someone who is always vulnerable, and can not stand on her own, might be a controlling male. This male could want a submissive partner, and I feel that could lead to some serious domination factors. I think that two people who have a relationship, will interchange their characteristics and sometimes take the role to be the assertive partner or become vulnerable depending upon the situation. To have a good healthy relationship, both partners need to be in tune to one anothers needs and feelings at any given time.

I prefer independent and assertive. If I want someone vulnerable, I'll impregnate her and have a child.

Good question. I don't quite get the guys who like bitchy women. I guess they like a bit of both. Guys like to be needed. I have no idea what they prefer but am planning on a re-invention!!!

We like a little of both, just like women like to feel needed and secure. We like to feel needed, and feel like we are the man in the relationship.

there's a time for both. my boyfriend likes to feel like "the man" whenever i go to him for help with something, but he also would never date a girl that couldn't handle her own
