Id wait at least 1 year before going with vista. I am an IT professional vista has to many bugs and alot of old programs do not work with this.
XP is still a very solid operating system that isnt loaded with bugs compared to Vista.
Features it has a few mostly graphic changes and some new security features. At current if you are using this for business vista I would not upgrade to due to all the problems that its currently causing not fixing. If you are a gamer then vista is fine to go with most new games all support vista. Business apps are usually slower to upgrade.
Just because its newer doesnt mean its better!

it seems like for now, XP is still better than vista.... I'm having windows vista right now, and it's pretty cool operating system and it have some features that pretty good.... but, some of the programs that already exist might not be able to be use in Vista...

so, i really agree with some people that ask you to wait for another year before the Operating system is pretty much stable...

DON'T DO IT !!!!

Vista has more bugs than Minnesota in July! Also, few software vendors have complete support for it.
