I am just wondering, why is it that women seem to be more attracted to married men? I mean when I was single if I wanted to hit on a women normally I would have to make the first move, but now since I have been married it seems like women are all over me, even though I am not interested. Also it seems that when I tell them sorry I am married that makes them more attracted to me. I am a faithful one women guy so it gets kind of irritating, especially because I think why couldn't I get this kind of attention when I was single and would have happily pursued these women. Why is this? Do women just get off on being able to get a guy to be unfaithful?

Forbidden fruit.

They know that (for the most part) you won't accede to their wishes and they can have a flirtation with little fear of consequences

Tramps and home wreckers always want what someone else has.

Ignore them. You have chosen the woman you want to be with. While the flattery is nice, it should not go any further than that. Your wife should expect other women to flirt, it is only natural. But she also expects you to know where to draw the line.

Be good to her. You chose her for a reason.

Women are evil, just accept it and go on. Be thankful that the one you married isn't too evil. Pay attention to her and love her like there is no tomorrow!

could it be that what you read as flirting is just silly friendly behavior? When I'm talking to a single guy, I'm very careful not to do anything that could be interpreted as flirting... but when I'm talking to married men, I goof around and tease them because I know they already have someone so they SHOULDN'T be reading "flirt" into what I'm doing... And they won't act on it either.

That's probably what MOST of these women are doing. Some might like that you can commit and think, maybe he'll divorce her and marry me instead. Some may be thinking, good flirting practice and I don't have to follow through with it. Some may think, I could have a physical relationship with this guy and not have to worry about emotional strings.

But my guess is that MOST of these women are just being friendly and your reading it as flirting.

i've never had this problem, but i believe that it's because if someone wanted to marry him, he's obviously a good man. i think it kinda goes back to 'why are all the good ones taken...' they see a man, he's married, he's with his kids/wife/ so on, they seem to be doing well, and they say "why can't I have that...?" it's not that they want the guy to be unfaithful, they want him to be faithful alright...just to them. My husband doesnt wear a wedding ring, and women kinda look over him...he drives a very plain car, dresses in plain clothing. BUT, when he wears the wedding ring, it seems like their eyes open wider..."he wears plain clothes, BUT he has on expensive shoes...he has a plain car BUt when he's with the family they're in a nice car..." it's more of a jealousy/what I want thing.

Your theory is pretty good, and is probably true for some women. My personal theory is that it's a kind of self-destructive behavior, so these women are even more strongly attracted to you because they can't have you. Also, there is no risk in talking with you because nothing will happen.

Hope you figure it out.

It's a challenge to some. To others it's a fling where they know the guy is totally devoted to staying w/the wife/family but wants some action on the side. She doesn't want any attachments, so she goes for it. They test you like that. I have had a few friends that did it on purpose just to see if they could get the guy to take the bait. Stupid head games. Your wife is a very lucky person to have a guy like you.

Seriously, it's easiest to find a new GF once you already have one. My guess it's one of the following for most of the ones who are pursuing you:

1. They want what they can't have.
2. They see someone else has you and figure you must be good stuff.
3. Your wife cleans you up and buys you good clothes to make you look presentable, so now it's easier to notice you.

They figure that if you are taken you must be a good catch. A good guy that will take care of them and probably more financially stable than many single men.
A lot of them are desperate and possibly married too.

because now women see that you more then likely have a job, and support a house. it is totally a chick thing. if we cant have something that just makes women want it more. trust me a lot of women hit on my husband too. it also maybe b/c you wouldnt be looking for a relationship so there are not strings attached there. dont fall for it.

This is true for both sexes, it is because what they are seeing is what they are not supposed to have and they try anyways to see what happens, when one marries they are making a VOW and it is broken when this is done. YES for both sexes, it is a mater of ego and gratification. It is like running a STOP sign and see if you get caught, but in the case of people FEELINGS are HURT.

Why do Married Men seem to be more attracted to me than the non-married one? I don't dress slutty or anything.... It's irritating to me as well that fathers and husbands look at me more than the one who's not taken...
