I'm gay, which is a *whole* different ballgame, so can't answer your question as asked. But I think I can offer some useful advice, deduced from the VERY diverse Answers of a lot of females to many "shirtless" Questions here, for what you're really asking--which is either:
1. When I'm hanging out with a girl on a warm day, should I take off my shirt? Can I expect her be thrilled?
OR
2. I was just hanging out with a girl on a warm day, took off my shirt hoping to thrill her, and she thought it was (tacky / sexual harassment / other negative). Is that what I ought to expect from a girl, or is she strange?
A. Just ask! "Ya know, it's pretty warm. Would you mind if I took off my shirt, even tho you can't?" You get points for appreciating society's sexism against her, AND you find out what her attitude is toward seeing, and/or being seen with, a bare-chested guy.

I took off a girls shirt on a hot day, and I was thrilled. Then she took more stuff off, and I was even more thrilled. Then she was thrilled with what I gave her.
