SOphmore slump. He's not the hot commodity he was last year, and things are just not falling into place like they did last year. Add the COT and it's associated issues, the fact that Hendricks Motorsports and its drivers are on fire, etc., and no wonder Kahne is struggling.

What will make Kahne a great driver will be how he deals with the season, and how he reacts next race and even next year.

Because Ray Evernham has his head so far up Erin Crocker's %ss that he can't figure out how to get their cars handling better. It's much more the owner's fault in this situation than it is the fault of Kasey, Elliot or Scott. You can't say it's a Dodge thing either because Penske has Kurt Busch looking really racey right now and Newman is even coming around some.

Dodge asked for a new nose. NASCAR approved a new nose designed by Everham Motorsports. Now they find the nose designed in the wind tunnel has thrown off all their other adjustments and they are basicly lost. This happens sometimes in motorsports and the answer is to return to a baseline setup. They have no baseline to return to so it will be a struggle. Luckily the COT is a clean slate, they need to get on that and forget the failed new nose and the old car. Unfortunately there are more races ahead for the old car.

Well most of the rule changes did not favor Dodge so this may have something to do with it.Then Evernham has not put 100% into the team this year. And the fact the car has only been a mid pack car this year,it just can not keep up with the Hendricks-Gibbs-Childress-Roush teams.
No reflection on his driving talent hi is developing into a very respectable driver.

Poor season and bad luck. He's a good driver but for some reason, its just not going for him. Great drivers sometimes dont even make the chase while some scrubs get in. One things for sure, He better do something quick or he will be locked out of the chase soon.

Many things, but the main thing is all the bad luck that has gone his way. How many times has he wrecked this season? You dont do as poor as Kasey has done without having getting wrecked more times than not.

i think the cot program for evernham is not up to par yet and the new nose the dodges got this year with the old car messed the balance up for them this year after winning 6 races last year i dont understand why they just didnt leave the car alone because last years car was fine

Several reason are given. One is the new nose on the Charger has thrown them a curve, which brought about their second problem the nose issue made them fall behind in the C.O.T. car.Kasey is to good and Everham to smart for them to stay down long.

I think it has to do w/ the COT he isn't used to racing that, just as the other racers, and I personally don't like the care of tomorrow!
