Such a person would have violated the Law of Chastity: "Chastity is sexual purity. Those who are chaste are morally clean in their thoughts, words, and actions. Chastity means not having any sexual relations before marriage. It also means complete fidelity to husband or wife during marriage."
Such a person would need to repent, partially through confession to their bishop. Depending on their attitude, it would more or less difficult to do this and there may be other repercussions, such as having their access to the temple restricted.

if a Mormon has a one night stand and they confess it to their Bishop he will tell him/her to stop taking the sacrement (Communion) for a period of time. Maybe a couple months. He/she would not be allowed to go to the temple for maybe a number of years. If it's a guy he will have his priesthood taken away. Also, he might be ex communicated meaning that he would have to re-join the church by getting re-baptized. If he's re-baptized everyone knows that he did something wrong.
I would HATE to get in trouble in that religion. Techniquely I am. You can't even get baptized on parole. Even if you didn't know about the book of Mormon when you did it.

We are all human... even Mormons. Mormons are not perfect though they strive to be. But, they like anyone else can make mistakes. They can choose to begin the repentance process if they wish. The gospel is perfect... not the people trying to live it.

There are many aspects to this question.
Yes, they could truly repent which means praying for forgivness but also confessing the sin to those who are affected by it. This means the person commiting the sin would need to confess it to their spouse if they were married.
Having a one night stand could affect their ability to take sacrament for a period of time or even preventing them from the blessings of entering the temple for a period of time.

Depends on things like, did the person go thru the temple and take their endowments? They will probably be excommunicated. If they haven't, they might be disfellowshipped instead. They must go thru a repentance process before their membership in full can be reinstated.
