No. The US was invaded in 1812, and the date of 'independence' was not changed.

It should not change because Independence Day celebrates our becoming a sovereign nation, declaring independence from British rule. We decided to become a nation, not to remain a British colony.

If we were invaded (one can argue we were by the attack on our soil on 9/11 after a declaration of war against the U.S. by bin Laden in '98), and repelled the attack, a new holiday may be considered as a victory celebration, and be observed in a more formal manner that V-E or V-J day is for our victories in WWII.

No, because Independence Day was set aside to celebrate our independence from England. Wouldn't be affected by any other battle/invasion.

No. There would be an additional holiday comemorating it. After a few decades it would cease to have importance, and then we would be looking at the next big thing... American culture has the attention span of a goldfish with ADD/HD.

doubt we would win right now, with all the soilders in iraq its a slim chance, doubt independence day would change

you have to be under laws and rule of another country to become dependent, for example, the phillipines is a province of the USA, they are not independent, just because somone is pissing in your swimming pool doesnt make them your owner.
