I just got back from the dentist an hour or so ago. I had been in 2 weeks ago and she filed down the fillings a bit. After a couple of days, the pain came back so I got back in to see her. She filed down the fillings a bit more today and said that my bite should be fine now. Right now, I have no pain when I bite down. I'm just afraid that in a couple of days the pain will come back like it did last time. She has taken x-rays the last 2 visits and says that there is no infection or anything that could be causing the pain. Has this happened to anyone else? How many times can you have your bite adjusted before something else needs to be done? Should I just be careful about eating on that side of my mouth for a couple of days and see if the slight pain I had in my tooth calms down?

HELLO JUSTINSMOMMIE,

WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS AFTER A BITE IS ALDUSTED IS THAT EVERYTHING RETURNS BACK TO NORMAL. WHEN THE FILLING WAS DONE IT WAS LEFT A BIT HIGH SO THE BITE HAD TO BE ADJUSTED. THE TOOTH MAY STILL BE SENSITIVE FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT THIS SHOULD GRADUALLY IMPROVE. IF AFTER A FEW DAYS IT GETS WORSE, YOU SHOULD RETURN TO THE DENTIST AS SOMETHING ELSE IS WRONG.
FOR A FEW DAYS DON'T EAT HARD THINGS ON THIS SIDE.

I'm actually having a similar problem. I had two fillings done late March. I started having a pain only when I chew on food with those teeth. Not all foods, but some, and it's ony when I chew the food a certain way. I did a bite test, and both of the filled teeth have the same reaction. And the dentist I saw a couple of weeks ago, couln't find anything wrong. Let me ask you this, are the fillings composite (white ones)? Because mine are, and I found this website online talking about how tricky those fillings are, especially when done on back teeth. Here's the site: http://www.mynewsmile.com/newfillingshurt.htm

Good luck with your situation. I'm looking to going to the dentist this week to have her possibly do the fillings over, because I'm at my wits end with this annoying pain when I chew.

the teeth do no longer bruise, get a sparkling scientific expert. She probable cracked your the teeth (the crack may well be sufficiently small to no longer be considered on the x-ray) doing the fillings, get a 2d opinion. Fillings shouldn't harm and could sense super the next day. Your the teeth/gum is obviously broken.
