you don't "burn fat" so to speak. You burn calories and if you burn more calories a day than you take in, you will loss weight which includes losing fat. There are specific exercises that will help build muscle in the area you want and the fat will come off as you lose weight and build muscle. Go to www.sparkpeople.com for the exact amount of calories to eat a day and how much exercise to do to lose the amount of weight you want in the time you want to do it in. There are also exercises there with photos to show you what muscles are targeted and how to do them.

Depends.
The REAL test is, what is your heart rate when you are walking? To burn fat, your heart rate must be at AT LEAST it's 65% max. Your max heart rate is 220 minus your age... then multiply that by 0.65. If you heart rate remains at that or above constantly for your entire walk, then you will be getting a good workout.
If it doesn't, it means you are probably in a bit better shape and need to bring it up a notch in order to lose weight. Losing weight WILL be difficult.. it shouldn't come that easy.
If your heart rate isn't up enough, what you could do is every 3 or 5 mins, add in a jog for 30-60 seconds and then go back to walking. That's consider interval trainning would boost your fat burning by a LOT! :)
Your inner thighs are a tough spot to lose weight from. MOST of the weight loss there will have to come from diet. You need to have a low sugar, low sat fat, low refined carb diet to really burn fat from the "tough spots". Also, there is no such thing as "spot reduction".. you can do BOXING and, as long as your heart rate comes up, you will burn fat all over your body--including your legs. So, just in case you thought you need to WALK to burn LEG fat, you don't... you can do any type of cardio. But yeah...jogging is probably my favorite form of exercise anyway... good luck! :)

For walking the amount that you are doing, no. What it does is increase your metabolism so that you are burning more calories even at rest. You are also toning, so even if you lose no fat on your thighs, the flabby parts will 'pull in' due to stronger muscles.
To burn fat just walking requires walking up inclines. My sister lost thigh fat pretty quickly doing that, but it was very tiring for awhile. She has 3 HUGE hills to walk right off her driveway, so it helps a lot.
The previous poster mentioned that you can't really target which fat you are getting rid of by specific exercise. However, you will tend to lose the fat closest to leg muscles quicker and you will also get those features toned quicker.
Try doing a whole bunch of measurements including 3 different places on your leg and watch those shrink! Your calf muscle MAY increase, but all the better. You look better in shorts then.

Yes, brisk walking (walk fast enough that your heart rate increases, but still be able to talk without losing your breath) is great for fat-burning. Remember that when you burn fat, it comes from your whole body, not just your thighs. There is no legitimate way to target fat burning on specific body parts, though you can tone the muscles underneath.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

Any excersize you do helps to burn calories. If you have excess calories that do not get burned then they get converted into fat. The key is to not intake more calories then what you burn. If you can intake less calories that what you burn in a given day including the walking then you will loose stored calories (aka fat).

Absolutely! It may take some time to kick in. Try eating 1/2 an hr before walking. Try eating 1/2 your normal portions. Try walking longer. Try jogging. Try some palates(sp) moves. It gets easier! Good luck!!!
