That's a great thing that you are thinking about doing a tattoo before actually going out and getting one. That's what I did with mine, and I am ready for my next one. I've been told- you either hate the feeling and never want another or you get addicted to the ink- I LOVE the ink! I was thinking something along the lines of a phoenix. You know, dying, and rising from the ashes kind of thing. Check out the two links below. Hopefully I was of some help- or direction!

Good luck!

Hi Heyangel,

You seem to be one of the few who actually understand that and maybe this is a bit of the old school train of thought but personally a tattoo should have some significant meaning.

I see allot of yuppie fools looking to get tattoo because its the trendy cool thing to do they need some ( attention ) with the rebel without a clue philosophy.

Perhaps I am a little harsh and honestly I am a bit of a yuppie who lives by the philosphy of " To Thyn own Self Be True..." And what gets to me I geuss is to see all these poser's.

The insecure leading the less secure I understand being in the dark we are all share these feelings **** but am going on a rant (sorry )

Angel I would look into a Celtic Design's and art its elaborate beautiful and has meaning find the one that speaks to you and go for it...

You've been Tatted

My husband had his first wifes identify tattooed on his shoulder, he had it protected the day his divorce got here by way of with 2 purple roses and leaf, you cant inform that her identify is underneath it that is well however it used to be aspect of a higher tattoo which remains to be seen, best her identify used to be protected so it form of spoiled the leisure of the tattoo which used to be beautiful with blue and purple roses. I desire that you just didnt have a gigantic tattoo of your ex's identify however there may be gentle on the finish of the tunnel, take a while and get it protected with some thing that's significant to you, some thing that you just arent going to remorse, speak to a tattoo artist you probably have any suggestions and they are going to support.

You should try to work with a tattoo artist (possibly who you are going to get the work done by and more preferably than possibly) or better yet, if you have any friends who are artists who could help you work on the design so that you can come up with something that is going to make you happy and if you help input your own thoughts into it and have an artist basically ink those ideas into paper, it makes it easier to come up with a design.

I think maybe you should get a Sankofa. It means to get it and return it or to learn from your past. That way you are not getting something that reminds you of the things that you regret more so the things that you plan to change so that those things dint happen again.

I attached two websites. One that shows the pic on one. It is the one that looks like a heart.

And the other link is to tell you what it is about. Good luck

Do you know the phoenix bird? Its a mythical bid that dies and is reborn out of its own ashes. I've seen beautiful tattoos that have this as a central them. Try looking on bmeink.com, ratemyink.com, & inkednation.com. Good luck and have fun! Whatever you do don't let the hate filled bigot tattoo haters get you down!!!!

I would recommend a saying or quote that reminds you of regret.

I think 'Life goes on' in a cursive font would look nice, and reminds you that you will always have regrets and there is nothing you can do about them BUTTTT life goes on!

I can't think of any symbols, though. Sorry!

Chinese symbol for mistake ^^^
Maybe you can just do like tally marks or something. Or two doves or two something, just to symbolize that its over. Make up your own symbol. You know the meaning of the two things. Maybe like the score board for bowling the x for strike. maybe you can get a score board then fill in two x's to make it look like you have striked twice. or something I dont know... thats a hard one

I would symbolize something positive you learned from the mistakes, not the mistakes....does that make sense. Whatever you get, you will have forever...why not make it something positive???

well, since you don't sound very encourageing about quiting, making mistakes, why don't you just have a score board, then you can just keep adding to it. or how about a light bulb thats "out".and you could just keep adding light bulbs. or how about you have,I.Q. 10, THEN EVERY TIME YOU SCREW UP,CROSS OUT 10, ADD 9 AND SO ON. MAYBE YOU SHOULD START WITH 100.
