I think most of us have all been where you are now. There is a wonderful book called The Young The Fabulous and the Broke by Susan Orman. It really is for exactly what you are going through, she will help you get a plan and stick with it as well as deal with the reasons why you treat your money the way you do. It's worth looking into. Part of learning what influences your decisions is a big part of change rather than just saying you need more self control. It's a great starting point. http://www.suzeorman.com/igsbase/igstemplate.cfm?SRC=MD002a&SRCN=catalogdetail&ProductID=23&StartRow=1&GnavID=10&SnavID=45&TnavID=

The very fact you realize you need to change is wonderful. Because many people go their whole lives without realizing they need a plan.

Well, first you really have to re-evaluate your priorities once you do that than you make a plan and stick to it. Maby stay away from shopping centers unless you really need something, than you make a list and go directly to it. School is expensive, but its woth it!!
Good Luck (;
