I teach my children that this is the right thing to do. It is all a matter of good manners -- the opening the door and such.

I do. Not so much the "taking the lead" part as I think she should have some input into the decisions that are made. Now, if after she expresses her opinion she still wants me to be the one who makes the final decision while weighing her opinion, that's fine. She must give me her thoughts on the matter though.

Other things like opening the door for her, pulling out her chair or helping her with her coat I'm all for. I'm of the opinion that it's the little things that matter.

I find that when I have the energy, I like to help take care of my woman. But as I get older, I find my estimates of my energy levels to be quite inaccurate at times and I have to just take care of myself. I do whatever I can, but when I am in pain or sick or just plain tired from all the physical work and stress my body has been under throughout my life, I just can't do it all the time!

Sweetie, you've described a gentleman. They are few and far between. But if you're lucky enough to have one in your life--you are extremely lucky! A man that genuinely cares about a woman will do these things and all the other little things that women appreciate and would love to become accustomed to. I've had one in my life...too bad he had other issues...because a gentleman is always putting his woman first.

From what I see women prefer the guys who are arrogant, smooth talkers(not truth tellers),don't like work, abusive, etc.
Nice guys who are gentlemen and responsible are usually too boring.
I've even been told that.

upto now,i've only met one guy who does that & i'm 18.he's the only completely mature guy i know.(well,i'm in college, what can i say...95% of the guys there are still immature)...i'd love it if i can meet more guys like that,it's nice to be taken care of at least once in awhile.

i think only mature guys like taking care of his woman.they like to please the woman, not exactly impress, but please them & show them they care.immature guys are far from that.

:)
