Right now, I weigh 149 lbs. At one point in time, last year, I was down to 120 lbs. I has skinny arms and legs abut still a big belly.

My mom and day both have large stomachs, can it be genetic?

cut down on carbs and stimulants, caffeine, alcohol and maybe try some relaxation to cut down on stress hormones which can make us pile on weight on the stomach as it messes with glucose levels etc.

If you have no muscle mass but still have a high bodyfat percentage, then you will be what is known as skinny-fat. To fix this you need to do some kind of weight training while you are trying to drop weight... this will help to ensure that you don't lose the muscle you have and if you are lucky you might even gain a few pounds of it. Dropping weight too quickly (more than 1% of your body weight per week) can also lead to heavy muscle loss even under the best training and diet

you are correct it is definetly genetics, you are given the same genes your parents grew up with. pull out old photos of them or close realtives and find out who has the same body type as you. then look at them today more than likely you will end up looking like them. also if you are trying to loose that belly work more toward cardio and less weight training to sweat it off that way you dont have a awkwardly looking frame.

I think that part of it is genetic. I am very thin always have been but I have a stomach even when I did a thousand sit ups a week......it just won't be flat no way no how!

It does sound hereditary. Yes it is possible to have a big belly and still have skinny arms and legs.

yes, your body sounds like mine. i am only 120 lbs. and a size 7 but my stomach hangs over. it is the one flaw in my beautiful body. gentics count for about half of our weight.

definetly...many skinny people have higher than average levels of body fat and the vast majority of skinny people are not lean (lower than average body fat)

you need to make some changes to your diet and increase the level of exercise to boost your metabolic rate

if that's bad, i can empathize, because i'm sorta' like that.
i hope they don't give this condition a disease-sounding name or i'll have them walk the plank!
