I had the same problem a few weeks ago. Use the Head and Shoulders Anti Dandruff shampoo. (blue container) If you use it faithfully, your dandruff should go away.
PS: I have a few doctors in my family and they say that if that shampoo doesnt work, it is beyond normal dandruff and that you should see your skin doctor. Hope it works

I personally need to change the dandruff shampoo after its done with another brand and different active ingredient. Reason I believe is that my head gets used to the shampoo and its not as effective.
Also use a boars hair brush. If its a good one the bristles should be pretty strong and it tends to shake out all the dry stuff.
Lastly, my hairdresser recommended that washing too much may make it drier and it gets worse. So I try to change my routine so that I only wash my hair once a day at most (used to soemtimes wash in the morning and then again after a work out) and take some breaks once in a while. So maybe two days a week lay off the shampoo.

try using a shampoo just for dandruff, there are some medicated ones that prevent itching and sooth the skin on the scalp and if that doesn't work i believe doctors/dermatologist can prescribe stronger shampoos. Head and Shoulders works for me personally but everyone is different!

Use a good dandruff shampoo, such as head and shoulders. Condition to! All that skin is from a dry scalp.

There is a shampoo called "T-Gel" and "Selsun Blue", both worked temporarily for my dandruff. However, for people with severe dermatitis, I'd suggest going to a dermatologist (skin doctor) and having it checked out; prescription-strength shampoo is so much better at dealing with severe cases.

My son had it really bad too...big pieces of skin (EWWW) what finally worked was the dandruff shampoo called Nizoral. unlike the other dandruff shampoos it also treats some kind of infection that causes the dandruff.

try Neutrogena T-Gel and use head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner. when you use the T-Gel let it stay on your scalp for at least 4 or 5 minutes, you will feel the difference.
once your hair is dried and your scalp itches use Scalpacin, it's a liquid and it does work.
if that doesn't help, see a dermatologist.

Head and Shoulders work great. Also, doctor prescibed shampoo works good, too. I usually wash my hair with selsun blue 3 times a week.
