One is more than enough. Bedmates are not wives. You don't need a wife if all you want is sex. In Nevada there are houses that will sell you all the sex you want in a supposedly safe venue (wear a rubber anyway) You're attitude is why most marriages these days end in divorce. Waylon Jennings once said "Wanna know what marriage is like? Find a girl you don't like and buy her a house." Marriage is an institution. If you're ready for an institution there are ones that will treat you much more kindly and for much less money in the long run.
Really - Marriage only works between two people who can stand each other out of bed (or wherever you like to do it) After you live with a girl or whatever for a few years (just the two of you no kids) if you're still talking to each other then get married and have maybe one kid if you must. In biblical times women were raised with much lower expectations ( a backlash from Goddess worship no doubt) Today's women demand a more equal partnership and polygamy would be like trying to run your life by committee. In biblical times all your wives would have served you as befitted the master of the household or tent. Today's women don't play that.
Fool around or get married you can't do both for long.

You're either the most masochistic man ever or your just talking out your booty! 8 wives, yeah, right! 90% of men around the globe can't satisfy all the needs of a single woman, let alone 8! You may think your a 'super stud', but I assure you, you couldn't keep up with the physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and economic demands of such a feat. I do know at least 6 women, though, you might certainly please in all of the above exigencies; Rosy Palm and her five sisters!!!

Tolerance of something is not the same as endorsement. Moses also allowed giving a writing of divorce, but Jesus, in refuting this laid the blame on the hardness of hearts of the Jews and referred them back to the original model of Adam and Eve to validate the proper conception of marriage. The same principle applies to multiple wives.

Gee, inasmuch as Moses never existed, he's merely another myth created by murdering desert nomads in the Bronze Age, I have a helluva time feeling sorry for him. As for myself, I was married only once (she passed away in '03), and, young sir, let me tell you, keeping her happy sometimes left me gasping for a breath. Eight? How about only six? Henry III had six...two of which he beheaded, another one he locked away because she was ugly...and he wasn't any great shakes in the looks department. Rather than marry eight women, why don't you try making one woman so happy she overlooks your many shortcomings...if you have any.

Well, that would be great, if you were a tribal leader and was worthy of those wives. (the bible shows that many of those men had to work for those wives...sometimes 7 yrs EACH) lol Depending on where you live though, it's against secular laws.

Twas a very long time ago, our societal norms have changed. I often wonder how it would be looked at if women asked to have multiple husbands at the same time.

No sane man would ever try to keep more than one woman happy. It's probably easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle.

i'm a Christian, and that i do no longer comprehend the answer to that, the two. Supposedly, it has something to do with the actuality that considering the fact that Jesus has come, we are in a sparkling dispensation. One spouse is approximately all I, individually, can preserve--and cope with to pay for--top now, besides.

Actually, I'm not. I've never personally understood anti-polygamy legislation. As long as the relationships are consensual and entered into by willing adults, I'm not bothered by either polygamy or polyandry.
