I saw both. Wasn't too impressed with Spiderman. I blurted out "Eww" when Kirstin Dunst started singing. If you can stomach her voice, speaking or seeing, than you might get through the movie. =)
Shrek disappointed me, too. It wasn't as funny as the first two. It lacked the adult humor it usually contains, and seemed more aimed towards 5 year old. It still made me laugh, even though it had some slow parts.
I'd go with Shrek.

I haven't seen Shrek, but i gurantee you will not like Spiderman (at least not as much as the first two). I saw it the day after it came out and was thoroughly disappointed. They tried to do 2 much with too much money

I took my daughter to see Shrek 3 - it was pretty funny.
Haven't seen Spiderman yet - not too big of a fan, though I might try to catch it at the dollar movie.

My sons and I are going to see Shrek 3 tomorrow. My sons said spiderman was ok but not anything special.

Shrek 3 was not funny at all! Don't waste your money. Go see Spiderman.

Why ask? IF you can watch the trailer to the new Shrek and not feel embarrased for humanity then there is something wrong with you

Spiderman was quite enjoyable, especially "Emo Spidey." I laughed my butt off during those scenes. I didn't see Shrek, but I did see 28 Weeks Later. It was extraordinary.

Shrek the Third was pretty cute. Not as good as the 1st two but had laugh out loud funny parts in it.........

Saw Spidey. I'm a fan of the trilogy, and I enjoyed it, but it wasn't all that IMO.
I'm not a Shrek fan. I'm seeing Pirates this weekend.
