Global warming is about the Greenhouse Effect: think of the earth encased in a giant plastic bubble with little or no vent to let the gases escape. Some plants thrive in a moist environment but once all the expelled gases are used up the plants start to get sick and die. We already breath too many toxins in our air already. Global warming has the same effect on people and animals.

The problem isn't so much as the "global warming" per say, it's the effects CAUSED by it. As you may have already read, the polar ice caps are receding. They are melting. As they melt faster and faster, it changes the flow of currents, as the ocean currents change, we see more darmatic changes in our weather. In fact, many scientist believe that the last ice age was caused by the global warming affects cause be volcanoes. So it would very much change or enviroment and food suplies.

The argument about insects.. is seriously flawed. There are plenty of mosquitoes in Siberia and Alaska. There is no reason to believe that warmer temperatures would cause any increase in insect carried diseases. That malaria occurs more frequently in warm areas, simply because that's where most of the world's poor live.
