It is a pastry that originated about 300 years ago in Italian barber shops. At the end of the day the barber would sweep up the clippings from the floor of the barber shop and take some of them home. The hair would be "marinated" in red wine for about 3-1/2 weeks, until it achieved a slightlty spongy texture. The marinated hair was then used as a pie filling, similar to the way we use apples and cherries as pie fillings today.

You MUST see the movie "Revenge of the Nerds", that was filmed in 1984. You will love this movie. The gorgeous and adorable Asian guy who hung with the nerds coined this phrase to allude to a girl's pubic region.
To me it was a terribly funny movie because it showed the strife people who are not of the mainstream have to suffer. I was always out of the mainstream and still AM! Anyway, enjoy the movie!
