I think its okay, he'll be ok, just watch for syptoms, That has happend to me before, my dog ate half a hershey's bar, but he was fine. I am not sure though, my dog is 28 pounds, (yours is smaller).
Just make sure he's not acting funny.
Hope I helped.

Chocolate is bad, even fatal, for dogs. Period. That being said there is probably not enough real chocolate in the cookie crisp to make your dog sick. However you probably should keep an eye on him the next day or so and call the vet if he starts having problems.
Remember dogs are living, breathing vacuums so be careful what crumbs you drop around them.

With chocolate you never know it's really the caffeine in chocolate that is bad for them. Some dogs can eat a box of chocolates and be fine others can eat one piece and get very sick and some die. Your best bet would be to call your vet and ask them and see how your dog is acting. The fact that it was a cookie and not straight chocolate is much better. I would just check with your vet if for nothing else to ease your mind. Best of luck;^)

The effects are more long term then something that will, make the dog keel over ....chocolate affects the internal organs ,in large amounts (pounds) might cause like kidney failure.... most dogs would have little affect eating a tidbit ... educate your sister to be much more careful around the dog ,make sure it doesnt become a regular thing....
if it makes you feel better call your vet and ask what they think...given the dogs age, size, breed etc...

The amount the dog ate should be okay, I would have taken the dog to the vet just to make sure but if your dog is drinking and eating your dog will be just fine. If you do happen to notice any change in the dogs behavior as of not eating or drinking lounging around and not moving, i would make an appointment and head to the vet!
Good luck!!
(im sure they will be just fine!!)

I've heard that one ounce of chocolate is enough to kill a small dog but the amount of chocolate in one piece of cookie crisp is so small that it doesn't really count. I certainly wouldn't let it happen again, but I'm pretty sure your dog will be just fine. Keep an eye on him for a bit just to make sure but don't stress about it unless he starts to act sick.

The dog should be fine. There's not really enough chocolate there to do any damage. Also, its mainly chocolate used for cooking, like cocoa, that causes damage. One of my dogs raided my counter while I was gone and ate an entire package of Oreos. I freaked, thinking he was going to die, but I called the vet and they explained that kind of chocolate isnt the threat. Its mainly cooking material you have to worry about. (But dont go giving them chocolate on a regular basis since you never know exactly what and how much its made up of) Keep an eye on eating and water intake just in case but you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I wouldn't feak out just yet but I would recommend you call the vet and explain the situation. A dogs size, breed, and amount and type of chocolate play major roles in wheather to bring a dog in or not.

Cooking choc is deadly but eating a choc cookie should not bother a dog. I used to toss M&Ms around the room for my MinPins to chase and eat and no one ever got sick. They prob ate 6 or 8 each. That was b4 I was aware choc was bad but they still do get the occasional M&M.

This is a very complicated question. It depends on:
The weight of the dog
The type of chocolate
How much of what was eaten was chocolate versus other ingredients.
The sensitivity of the breed, and of the individual.
If you dog exhibits signs of digestional upset, or changes in behavior (ie hyper) get to the vet.

It should be ok. Your dog may get an upset stomach (and the ensuing throwing-up and/or diahrrea). Monitor the dog and see how he/she reacts. If you don't see anything extremely abnormal in the next 2-4 hours, it should be fine. Otherwise, take the dog to the vet.
