The teachings of both are extremely similar although I really can't espouse Paul's take on the teachings of Jesus. No, I am not a Christian but I agree with the general message of Jesus. And yes I am extremely well-versed in scripture, theology and catechisms so I don't need a lecture just your thoughts........Many blessings and namaste

I agree with you. Recently I realized I shouldn't allow the atrocities of the church to sour me on Jesus Himself. So now, I consider myself a spiritual person influenced by Buddha and Jesus.

What's 'wrong' with believing in Buddha and Jesus? It's not 'right'. Jesus was God manifested in the flesh; Buddha was a creation of God...a man; who is now dead. Jesus is still alive and seated on the throne of Heaven. Before Him, Buddha will have to kneel and give account of his life as you and I will also have to do.
Only Jesus has the power to save you from all your sins, sorrows and tribulations. Only Jesus has the Holy Spirit to send to you and help you in everything you need. Buddha needed the Holy Spirit, too, which only comes from God the Almighty. Perhaps some day, if the Lord delays His return someone will be asking...."What's wrong with worshiping George Bush and Jesus?
Think about that. God Bless.

Any belief in a system of high moral character and acceptance of such, as well as deciding to live a life of forgiveness, humility, understanding and generousity is the high road to God, which I like to call the Master Designer. Jesus was a self educated man and it is thought by learned scholars that he studied not only the Jewish scriptures but other religious texts of his time. This would include Confucian and Hindu teachings and Buddhism which is an outgrowth of Hinduism. My thought is that any high moral ground or road traveled will eventually lead to God, Heaven or Nirvana and another existence of truth and beauty that no mortal can imagine. There is nothing wrong with believing in any philosopy or religion based on high moral ground.

Actually, if you remove the religious dogma, and can see Jesus as an enlightened being who opened the heart of many and taught compassion and loving kindness, then Jesus is a Buddha. Buddha is not one man. There was a man named Siddhartha who was the historical Buddha and gave birth to the Buddhist faith, but that does not mean he is the only Buddha. A Buddha is a fully enlightened being. So its very possible to be a Buddhist and also a Christian.

Buddhism replaced into considered one of those non violent determination! Buddhism is extremely open & excepting of all different faiths in general because of the fact Buddhism itself, is a philosophy, no longer a faith based faith. we don't pray to Buddha for he's not a god. we can seek for preparation and course for our daily lives, and so on. human beings will frequently think of that Buddhism is contradictory to Christian religions, and in some techniques that's diverse. whether, there are additionally a good type of similarities among the two. Absolutely nothing. That's very cool! I am also for what Jesus taught but not all of the doctrine that was formulated after his lifetime and I try to practice what the Buddha taught (Theravadan Buddhism). Jesus and the Buddha are both very good people to emulate.

Jesus himself said that He was the Son of God and the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He also stated that He was the only way to the Father. Therefore, if you believe in Jesus, you cannot believe in any other deity or religious figure. To do so breaks one of the Ten Commandments and contradicts the very teachings you claim to believe. There is no middle ground or compromise, Jesus either was who he said he was or he was a total madman.

Everyone has the freedom to believe in whatever they want.
It's when they cram it down someone else's throat that the
problelms arise. I always thought that trying to convert
someone to your way of thinking based strictly on faith with
no actual proof was a curious phenomenon that a lot of
people try to take part in. This is an individual choice and
should remain private.

Forget Paul. He added the name Jesus to the story of Mithras. That is all he did.

I believe that the man, Jesus, may have been a Buddhist, or at the very least had studied Buddhism.

Because Buddha is not alive, Buddha is not real-- Buddha does NOT answer back.

Jesus Christ is the way the truth and life, and no one comes to the Father but through HIM" John 14:6

All else are false idols, false gods that do nothing, and have no breath in them-- as the Bible says:
Jeremiah 51:17
"Every man is senseless and without knowledge; every goldsmith is shamed by his idols. His images are a fraud; they have no breath in them.

Psalm 40:4
Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
