Eucalyptus rice bags you can heat in the microwave - I think they are the most wonderful things. A close friend thought she had constant sinus infections and problems all the time ... she had a deviated septum ... when they fixed that - the headaches went away.
Also - migraine's can disguise them selves as sinus headaches.

At home treatment for sinus infections aims at reducing the inflammation, getting the sinus' to drain so the infection can clear, and increasing comfort.
It is recommended that you use moist, hot compresses 5-10 minutes at a time several times a day.
Consider inhaled steam via vaporizer with a blanket over your head, hot, steamy showers, or boiling water, removing it from the stove, and placing a towel or blanket over you and the pan. Adding vaporizer additives like menthol can help open up breathing passages for you.
Use a humidifier or vaporizer in your room while you sleep to keep the air moist and promote healing.
Avoid dry, cool air.
Another recommendation is saline lavage. You can make your own saline (salt water) with 8 oz. of water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Boil, let cool and use it to irrigate your sinus. They sell little sinus irrigators and little pots to rinse your nose with at the drug store. The salt water reduces inflammation, washes out bacteria and irritants, and helps open up your nasal passages. You can do this often and there are no adverse effects. It is proven as effective as nasal steroid sprays without the side effects. It is advised to gargle with salt water to help avoid infecting your throat while you are treating your sinus infection.
Sometimes sinus infections are fungal. A culture would help narrow down the fungus or bacteria at the root of the problem so that you can effectively treat your infection. Either way, sometimes the infection will go away with ten days of treatment. Other times it takes weeks, so don't get discouraged.
If it continues after treatment, see an ENT.
Drink plenty of water to keep your mucous membranes wet so your sinus' can clear. Very often an expectorant such as guaifenesin (robitussin) is used to thin the mucous so that you can clear it.
You may feel uncomfortable even after your infection clears.
Consider an anti-inflammatory med such as ibuprofen to relieve pain and help bring down the inflammation.
If you have allergies, consider taking your allergy medicine as well.
Good luck. Hope this helps and you feel better soon.

sounds like sinusitis to me or it could be anything like a nasal polyp - but then again, i'm not a doctor. i had the same condition and it went on for months so i decided to see the doctor. turned out i have nasal polyp on both nostrils. btw, ears hurt when you blow your nose so hard. if you don't want to see the doctor, you can try drinking a lot of water, warm soup to relieve you of nasal congestion, and take 1000 mg of vitamin c every day. i don't take over the counter meds for common colds because there is really no cure for the common colds.

A good home remedy is to boil some oregano in water on the stove, place a towel over your head to make a tent to trap the steam, and try inhaling the steam. It works for my wife all the time.
